Caroling in the Heights

It’s the season to lift up your voice and sing for hope, a new creation, and a spirit of generosity!

The Newburgh Heights Association will be caroling in the neighborhood with members of
the Heights Congregational Church on Saturday, December 18th. We will meet at the church on the corner of Liberty and Courtney Streets between 3:30 and 4:00 PM and return after caroling for a pot luck supper in the church. There will be gifts presented to the younger children at that time.

Music, bells and candles will be provided. Bring food for the pot-luck and leave it at the church. We have it on good information that St. Nicholas will be joining us as we sing our way through the neighborhood.

The Green Wave

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

“Black” by David Borenstein (L); “Sacred” by Rik Catlow (R)

The Ann Street Gallery is pleased to present a new exhibit, The Green Wave: Sustainability & Found Object Exhibition, with an Artist Reception on Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 6:00–9:00 PM.

The “green wave” trend has reached massive status in the U.S. as websites crop up all over the internet, organizations take a contemporary stance focusing on ecology, and celebrities advocate for ecological changes. In this exhibition, through their work, ten artists: David Borenstein, Rik Catlow, Deborah Colotti, David Edgar, Janice Gordon, Brooke Holve, Julie Kornblum, Todd Knopke, Patianne Stevenson, and Stuart Wagner, work to communicate new meanings and interpretations about sustainability.
